I was thinking about your excellent photography as I toured Acadia National Park recently. I could see
why you are so attracted to that beautiful place. It's such a nature photographer's paradise!

I value your SPOTLIGHT features which encourage positive action by artists in order to change the
world for the better. Maybe this is the true purpose of artists.
Blythe J.
(Editor's reply: I wouldn't continue as an artist if I didn't believe that.)

I've been having a lot of difficulties in my life as an artist this past year or so. The November/December
2021 issue of Artists Are Always Right regarding Murphy's Law really connected with me. Thank you.

I recently graduated from college as an art major. Any advice on career direction?
Bonnie P.
(Editor's reply: Do what your heart tells you to do. Don't listen to anyone who tries to tell you to do
what you don't want to do. Most importantly...create art!)

While looking at the past issues, I came upon the March/April 2021 SPOTLIGHT in which you said
that Jimmy Stewart was the actor you would want to watch if you were stranded on a deserted island.
I agree that he was very good. Could you elaborate?
Simone J.
(Editor's reply: James/Jimmy Stewart was a natural. He didn't need a "method." He was simply himself.
Likeable. The guy next door. Photogenic. He could be serious, intense and funny. He knew how to hit
his mark and connect with the audience. Need I say more?)

Your Schwartz Shirts book, The Book of Observations, is very funny! It also has a lot of serious truth
in it as well. I can't wait to read your next Schwartz Shirts book.

I live in Australia and am new to your journal. What I've read thus far is very good. I like how you
include all types of art. Regardless of medium or nationality, we're all the same.

Are you planning on writing more about Eliot Porter in Artists Are Always Right? I admire his work.
You were fortunate to have studied with him.
Oscar A.
(Editor's reply: I wrote about Eliot in To Be An Artist and The Creative Nature Photography Workshop
books as well as previously in Artists Are Always Right. I do have other memories of Eliot which I plan
on sharing in a future book.)

I just found out about Artists Are Always Right and am writing to say how much I enjoyed your
SPOTLIGHT about John Denver and your friend, Dale in the March/April issue. I'm a long time fan of
John Denver and wish he was still making music today. Your story about the connection between John
and your friend is very touching.

I enjoy Artists Are Always Right very much. I am wondering if you will ever do a SPOTLIGHT on
The Beatles?
Carl D.
(Editor's reply: As someone who grew up listening to a lot of great music in the 1960s, I have many
memories of The Beatles which I intend to express in a future SPOTLIGHT. It's on my to-do list.)

The SPOTLIGHT in the May/June issue of Artists Are Always Right was very clever. How you
combined the two concepts together was very enlightening. Good job!
